Summer Shandy gave birth on April 4, 2025, to a colorFULL handsome harlequin appaloosa male, Rare Gem Chunky Monkey, sired by our renowned harlequin herdsire, Rare Gem Camouflage. His name is inspired by his substantial bone structure and the colorful ice cream, Chunky Monkey. This young male is a Camo mini me and he was up, walking, and nursing within minutes. Shandy delivered on time at 341 days. The delivery was textbook perfect and unassisted, showcasing her ease of birthing. Shandy is a nurturing mother with great maternal instincts. Summer Shandy is a multi blue ribbon winner and the daughter of Snowmass Silent Legend—co-owned by Alpaca Palace and Stachowski Alpacas. Silent Legend is a 9X champion and son of the legendary Snowmass Elite Legend, Herdsire of the Year for three consecutive years. Elite Legend is recognized as one of the most elite-fleeced Quechua sons to grace breeding programs in the United States. Silent Legend brings color into the Elite Legend genetic line through his dam, Snowmass Silent Whisper, whose lineage includes Snowmass Nova and 6Peruvian Silent Night, as well as Accoyo Legacy and Chaccu.
